Ready Steady Go Childcare

Ready Steady Go Childcare was established in 2001. It is owned and directed by two sisters who are both passionate mothers and have enjoyed seeing their own children and family/friends come to our Nursery.over the years. We were delighted with our Ofsted inspection in January 2019 giving us a Good grading in all areas. (Please click the link for our full Ofsted Inspection Report). We are proud to have a dedicated, qualified, experienced and friendly team of staff, many of whom have been with us long enough to see our little ones grow into adulthood. We are committed to our excellent relationships with parents, carers, Ofsted and other valuable agencies in order that we may continue to deliver a childcare setting that provides all our children with the highest quality of care and unlimited opportunities so that they can learn develop and grow in a safe, caring and stimulating environment.

Our nursery is set in a residential area within a local village community giving the children excellent opportunities to explore their surroundings as part of their nursery routine. Our home from home setting has adequate space for 69 children each session from birth to 5 years of age. The nursery offers many rooms, a baby room (0 -1 yr), a tiny tots room (1-2 yrs), a toddler room (2 – 3yrs), and our preschool room (3 – 5yrs). The additional rooms are used for dining, sleeping, craft, story, and sensory times. This provides the children with stability and familiarity of the nursery as they journey and progress through the rooms with their friends. We are open 49 weeks per year from 7.30 am until 6 pm Monday to Friday. We offer full-day or half-day sessions and will always do our best to accommodate various hours allowing Government-funded parents to fulfill their entitlements. We accept all Government Funding, childcare vouchers, tax-free childcare, and we welcome children and their families from all backgrounds, ethnic minorities, those with special educational needs or disabilities, as well as children who speak English as an additional language or do not speak English at all. We work closely in partnership with local support agencies and North Somerset in order to meet each child’s individual needs. We promote equality and diversity in our setting by promoting British Values to protect our children from discrimination, and involve the children in celebrating all kinds of festivals and traditions throughout the year.
We inspire the children to respect other’s views, encourage them to share and take turns, thus providing a sense of right and wrong and ensuring a safe and friendly environment.

We offer a fully home cooked menu providing the children with a variety of healthy and nutritional foods. We pride ourselves on our 5 star Food & Hygiene rating which we have been consistently been awarded for all Environmental Health inspections.
We have a large outdoor garden which offers a natural and stimulating environment with many physical and creative resources. The children go outside everyday so they can play explore and extend upon their physical development, and understanding of our world and nature around us.
The outdoors are fundamental to children’s learning and development and we support this with our garden and with our trips out of the setting, whatever the weather, on different modes of transport to visit places such as the beach, park, woods, museum, local schools, boat yard, swimming, elderly residential home and attend ballet class.

We recognise that every child is individual and deserves the best possible start in life and we actively support and encourage all the areas of learning and development by following you, the parent/carer, together with the EYFS framework (Early years foundation stage). & Key Person.

We understand how choosing a nursery is a huge decision for any parent/carer. We hope our Home from Home nursery where your little one will be cared for as if they were our own, where safeguarding is of imperative importance, and where we continually strive to promote excellent learning and a warm environment where your child can freely express their personalities, build in confidence, and be happy as they grow and move towards the next stage of their lives making Ready Steady Go the perfect nursery for your child.

Meet the Team

If you were to ask us what makes our nursery a fantastic choice of childcare and education for your child, we would say we are credited with our staff that really do go the extra mile. They are conscientious and exceptional childcarers. They are dedicated to their on-going professional development, and together they work extremely well as an enthusiastic and motivated team using their innovative approaches throughout their delivery, day after day of the Early Years curriculum.
All staff hold a suitable DBS check, Level 3 or above qualified and experienced in early years childcare. In addition to this, we are fortunate to have 3 staff holding a degree in early years education and care, giving the children the best quality of teaching and care possible.
100% of staff are Paediatric First Aiders. The management team have a robust recruitment and training plan in place to ensure staff are kept up to date with relevant changes, updates, and mandatory learning such as safeguarding, child protection, food and hygiene, fire safety, the prevent duty, manual handling, and any new and useful courses that may become available.
We have a unique approach in working, whereby all staff works in rotation in all areas of the nursery. This system benefits both staff and children building familiarities, attachment, communication, and superb staff morale.
